Ever since I was a little girl I always had a pencil in my hand. While watching TV or listening to lectures in school, I would draw my own hand, doodle or render what ever was available. It was like an obsession.
As an artist, I’ve gravitated towards newer high quality color pencils, pastel pencils and nu-pastels as my preferred media. I love finding that beautiful detail you can only get by holding a pencil in your hand. I’m inspired and follow the work of Barbara Duhlstedt, Jesse Lane and Eileen Nistler. I’ve just recently discovered pastels and nu-pastels. Working and exploring with the beautiful colors in a pastel box is so exciting. These materials only helped to improve all my art work: painting, pastels and color pencils.
I received a degree in Fine Arts from Rowan State University and second certification in Art Education from Moore College of Art and Design in 2006. I taught Art Education for the Cherry Hill school district for 12 years before retiring and moving to East Norriton.
I have exhibited at many juried art shows, won awards and sold artwork around the southeastern Pennsylvania area, to list a few…Greater Norristown Art League, Wayne Art Center, Philadelphia Pastel Society, Media Arts Console, John James Audubon Show and Ambler Arts Center. I am also a member of the Color Pencil Society of America and won an award at the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, Works on Paper 2019 show for a color pencil drawing called “Foster Dog”.
